Sheik Rashid plea seeking return of his bullet proof vehicles: IHC reserves judgment

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the petition filed by Sheikh Rashid requesting the court to order to return his bullet proof vehicles taken by police into its possession illegally during raid at his home.

The petitioner had also requested the court to order for initiating proceedings against SHO Kohsar Police on misconduct and abuse of powers.
The case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Tariq Jahangiri on Thursday.

Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan counsel for Sheikh Rashid said police conducted raid on residence of Sheikh Rashid located in F-7 at 3 a.m night on May 31 without search warrant. Police took into their possession one licensed gun and two bullet proof vehicles forcibly.

He further said judicial magistrate ordered to hand over the vehicles on superdari but SHO refused to comply with order.

Sardar Abdul Razzaq advocate said order be issued for returning to Sheikh Rashid immediately the vehicles which were taken into their possession by police.

It was also prayed that order be issued for initiation of action against SHO Kohsar police station on misconduct and abuse of powers.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri reserved the judgment on Sheikh Rashid petition.
