Sheikh Rashid, nephew acquitted in Masjid-e-Nabawi sloganeering case

RAWALPINDI: Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and his nephew MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq were acquitted in the case of sloganeering at Masjid-e-Nabawi. Fateh Jang Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Arif issued the order Friday on the acquittal plea filed under Section A-249 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). On behalf of the accused, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan Advocate gave arguments on the plea. It is to be noted here that during the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia, some people hurled insults at him and the members of his delegation at Masjid-e-Nabawi. Qazi Tariq of the Lawyers’ Wing of the PML-N had got a case registered at the New Airport Fateh Jang police station.
