Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman on Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police check post in Hangu, paying glowing tribute to the police personnel who embraced martyrdom while courageously defending the country.
In a statement, she said that DSP City Diyar Khan and nine other personnel, who laid down their lives while bravely confronting the terrorists, were the pride of the nation and a shining example of courage, sacrifice and dedication to duty.
She said the terrorists would never succeed in their nefarious designs, adding that security forces and the brave people of the country stood united in the fight against terrorism and were prepared to make every sacrifice to eradicate the menace.
Sherry Rehman expressed confidence that the day was not far when Pakistan would completely overcome the scourge of terrorism through the collective resolve and resilience of its people and security institutions.
She also prayed for the eternal peace of the martyrs and for the early and complete recovery of those injured in the attack.
