ISLAMABAD, : Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic school shooting in Kahramanmaras, Türkiye, which claimed the lives of innocent children. In a statement, Sherry Rehman said she was deeply saddened by the loss of young lives in the horrific incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Referring to initial reports, she said the student allegedly brought a weapon to the school after hiding it at home, highlighting the urgent need for greater parental responsibility regarding children’s mental development and monitoring of online and media content. She stressed that countries around the world must strengthen security arrangements and counselling systems in educational institutions to help prevent such tragedies.
