Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Vice President and Senator Sherry Rehman has expressed concern over the falling value of the rupee.
Senator Sherry Rehman said in a statement that the dollar has reached a high of 178.17, while in the open market the value of the dollar has reached 181.20.
She also said that the rupee has depreciated by 30.5% in the last three years, the dollar was Rs123 in 2018 which is now Rs178. The government considers itself innocent by placing responsibility on bookies.
She questioned whether the country’s economy and the value of the rupee were being decided by speculators now, or whether the government was part of the conspiracy.
Sherry Rehman further said that the Prime Minister used to get information about the value of the dollar on TV, such an irresponsible government has never been seen before.
