Shinwari volleyball club defeated Karwan Afridi volleyball team with visible margin of 3:1 sets in best of five final match of Ramazan night volleyball tournament played at Nazero sports ground, Sultan Khel,tehsil Landi Kotal on Monday night.
The tournament was organized under the auspices of a local sports organization and eight best volleyball teams from across the subdivision participated in the combat.
The two finalist teams, Shinwari team and Karwan Afridi club, qualified for the final match while defeating their opponents in the semi-finals.
Beside former Member Provincial Assembly Shafiq Sher Afridi as chief guest, councilors and notables attended the game event.
Before the beginning of the final game, players of both finalist teams were introduced to the chief guest.
Large numbers of sport lovers watched the final match of the tournament and applauded the players on exhibiting their best talent in the games.
The game started in a thrilling way and players of both teams attempted to take the lead however, the players of Shinwari club exhibited their best game and won the final match of five best by 3:1 sets.
Muhammad Qadri was declared best player of the tournament whereas Wasim Shinwari was named as best player of the match.
At the end the chief guest awarded trophies and prizes to the winning teams and shining players.
Shafiq Sher Afridi appreciated the talent of the local volleyball players and assured them of every kind of support to promote sports.
The event was organized by the local sports union by self assistance and no sports body on tehsil or district level extended any help to them, the organizers regretted.
