Small industries promotion key priority of KP govt: Minister for Industry

An important meeting held here on Monday with caretaker minister for industries, commerce, and Technical education Syed Aamir Abdullah in the chair, reviewed the overall affairs related to the Small Industries Board in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting was attended by the Managing Director (MD) Small Industry Development Board (SIDB) and other relevant officers.
The caretaker minister Syed Aamir Abdullah was briefed on the ongoing projects of the board in the province and other affairs of the industries regarding the development of the industry sector in KP.
Caretaker minister directed the quarter concerned to initiate different steps to promote small industrialists at the market level, inform them about technical procedures and take concrete steps to increase the revenue stream of SIDB.
He expressed his satisfaction on the progress of the development projects.
The chair was informed that with completion of the Industry Park Peshawar II which consists of about 943 canals will promote industries development in the province.
“There are vast opportunities for further investment in the province and businessmen associated with the industry sector can get maximum benefits from it,” he said.
Syed Aamir Abdullah directed the concerned officials of SIDB to adopt modern methods to improve the efficiency of the institution and to attract investors towards solarization to solve the problem of electricity for industries.
KP caretaker minister was also given a briefing on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade.
He was informed about the provision of facilities to investors in KP and the performance of KP-BOIT, and the Board of Investment’s initiatives for investors in the province.
The forum was informed that the board has taken special measures to promote and invest in tourism in Karam, Agzai and Khyber in Integrated Tourism because there are opportunities for them here.
He also directed the KPBOIT to take steps to solve the problems and difficulties faced.
Secretary Industries Matiullah, Director Iqbal Sarwar, Director Finance and HR Sahibzada Kifayatullah and other officers were also present in the briefing.
