Karachi : Renowned ENT Specialist and former PMA Secretary Dr. S.M. Qaiser Sajjad has strongly condemned open smoking by parliamentarians inside Parliament House, stating that smoking is prohibited by law in the Parliament premises but unfortunately, the lawmakers themselves are violating the sanctity of the sacred house. He said every citizen of Pakistan is well aware of the harmful effects of smoking, as not only smokers but also those sitting around them are affected by passive smoking. Dr. Qaiser Sajjad appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to take strict notice of the matter to uphold the sanctity of the sacred house and ensure immediate enforcement of the anti-smoking law in Parliament House.
