SSP Operations Peshawar admits rise in crime

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Peshawar Kashif Aftab Ahmad Abbasi has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of field officers.  According to sources, Abbasi has directed all divisional SPs, SDPOs and SHOs of the provincial capital to improve their performance and special focus should be given on crime control.
He has clearly instructed the quarter concerned to expedite crackdowns against anti-social elements as well as operations against the accused wanted to police in dangerous crimes. He emphasized over the steps for eradication of crimes ratio in Peshawar, adding that police officials’s lackluster response has impacted the overall performance of the department compared to last year. “SPs, SDPOs and SHOs did not perform their daily duties diligently,”he stated. SSP Operation has also shown reservation over the performance of police officers for failing to increase the ratio of criminal arrest.
Abbas has also hinted for a strict accountability of the police officer in next couple of weeks.
