On the ninth day of the 25-day Awami Theatre Festival 026, the stage comedy play “Meray Friend ki Girl Friend” was presented, drawing laughter and applause from a packed audience.

The storyline revolves around Shamir, whose wife leaves for her parents’ home, prompting him to secretly plan a birthday celebration for his girlfriend at his house. To make the occasion special, he even hires a chef.
However, the situation takes a comic turn when Shamir’s friend unexpectedly arrives from Dubai. Matters worsen further when Shamir’s wife suddenly informs him of her return after recalling that the following day is their wedding anniversary, along with placing an order for a cake.
Caught in a web of rapidly changing circumstances, Shamir panics and attempts to pass off his girlfriend as his friend’s girlfriend. The confusion escalates when, instead of the girlfriend, the chef makes an untimely entrance, triggering a chain of hilarious misunderstandings.
