Steps would be taken for capacity building of teachers: Sikandar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Irrigation Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao and Provincial Minister for Labour Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli have said that due to their hectic efforts, financial issues of Workers Welfare Board (WWB) with federal government have, to a large extent, solved and the Federal Workers Welfare Board released fund to WWB and its educational institutions in the KP for imbursement of salaries. They added that due to these efforts, not only the issue of Ex.WWB employees’ salaries had been resolved, but the pending salaries of board of 3082 employees, of the Baord for the period.
, March 2016 to June 2016, had been issued through online system.
The ministers vowed that as the financial crises of board had almost solved therefore in the second phase, steps would be taken for capacity building of teachers working in WWB run schools so that credibility of these schools for the provision of quality education to the children of labour workers could be restored.
The ministers expressed these views on Friday at Working Folks Grammar School, Industrial Estate, Hayat Abad, Peshawar on the eve of cheque distribution ceremony to Ex. employees of WWB, while Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao was the chief guest in the ceremony.
Secretary Labour Syed Alamgir Shah, High ups of WWB, QWP Information Secretary Tariq Khan, Labour Unions leaders and Ex. employees attended the ceremony in large number.
The Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Sherpao, on this occasion, said, that labour workers were playing an important role in the improvement of economy of country and particularly the KP, that is why it is our duty to ensure the protection of rights of labourers and their children. He added that due to these responsibilities, provision of main facilities to labour workers and quality education to their children was our main task and we would do utmost efforts to make these children effective citizens of the society.
The KP Minister Labour Anisa Zeb Tahir Kheli, on the occasion said that she struggled hard for the release of salaries’ of WWB employees and thus succeeded in her aim by giving cheques of salaries to the Ex. Employees. She said that we succeeded in giving salaries to 546 Ex. employees and 3082 other employees of the board.
The minister said the performance of Working Folks Grammar Schools would be improved, while an appellate committee under the chairmanship of secretary labour has been constituted for hearing the appeals of those employees, who were blacklisted due to non eligibility in the WWB’s rationalization policy.
She added that after the notification for the establishment of new board of WWB, the issue of regularization of contract employees would also be resolved.
