Strict indiscriminate action against miscreants in Kurram decided: KP Govt Spokesman

An important meeting attended by the KP Govt spokesman, Chief Secretary and IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, senior civil and police officers here Sunday decided to take strict indiscriminate action against the miscreants in Kurram district.
The spokesman of KP Government in a statement here said that the state was standing with the peaceful people, and cruel elements would be brought to justice.
The spokesman said that action against a handful of miscreants in the affected areas of Kurram was inevitable, and that the peace agreement would be implemented as per law and Pakhtuns traditions.
The security forces would be present in aid of police and civil administration as the Govt feared an entrance of miscreants among the peaceful elements and that later would be separated from the former to save them from losses.
The spokesman said that best alternate arrangements were made for the people of affected areas and the Govt has requested both the parties to help law enforcement agencies in identification of the miscreants.
The spokesman said that peace agreement was signed during a grand jirga as per pashtoon traditions to ensure peace in the area, however nefarious attempt was made by the miscreants to sabotage the peace agreement.
The Deputy Commissioner Kurram, aid convoy and personnel of securty forces were targeted by the miscreants and DC was critically wounded.
The spokesman appealed people of the affected areas to extend full cooperation with security forces to restore peace quickly there.
The spokesman said that people of Kurram wanted peace and respected the peace agreement.
He said that Govt has made sincere efforts to restore peace in the affected area through peaceful means and abide by the peace agreement.
