PESHAWAR
A student of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) and her father have served separate legal notices on the university’s vice chancellor and other officials, asking for re-checking of her papers of all eight semesters and making up for the damage done by spreading false propaganda on the social media networks to demean and defame them.
The notices were served by senior lawyer Inayatur Rehman Khattak of the Peshawar High Court on behalf of the student of political science department, Ms Mahnoor Fatima, and her father Mahmood Iqbal, a senior Peshawar based journalist.
The notices asked for re-checking of her papers of all eight semesters, particularly semesters 3rd and 4th in which she was declared failed in one paper each, through impartial teachers and make up for defaming them through voice messages on WhatsApp network in seven days, failing which they would move the concerned court of law for further legal action, including filing of a damages suit.
The notices were served on the SBBWU’s vice chancellor, its registrar, its controller of examination, head of the political science department, in-charge of the BS Program and the public relations officer of the university.
The notices state that the student had studied in the 2017 to 2021 session in the political science department and had whole heartedly continued her studies and appeared in all the examinations.
