ISLAMABAD (INP): International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and University of Baluchistan have agreed upon initiating steps for students’ exchange program. This was vowed on Tuesday during a meeting when Vice Chancellor Baluchistan, Dr. Javed Iqbal met with the Rector and President IIUI at new campus of the university.
It was decided in the meeting that a group of 150 students from Baluchistan University would be visiting IIUI in next month under the youth mobilization program where the participants would be briefed about the university.
Both Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh condoled to VC Baluchistan on loss of lives of its large number of alumni in the recent Quetta carnage.
Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said youth must be nurtured in a way that they should be well-prepared for the emerging challenges. He hailed the efforts of Baluchistan University and agreed that exchange of students from both sides will help in broadening the exposure of students.
He added that university has also announced a special quota for the students of Baluchistan. The IIUI Rector furthered that CPEC project must be prime focus of Pakistani universities which can be helpful in terms of producing a handsome number of human resource which will be directly inducted in the working organizations of the CPEC.
Dr. Masoom Yasinzai told that a Silk Road School of Technology at IIUI would be iaugurated on September 1 at university which is a joint venture of university and a Chinese organization.
VC Baluchistan University said that IIUI is a unique hub of learning and it is playing a pivotal role in dissemination of message of peace through its scholars and various activities. Talking about the challenges of hour, he said that Baluchistan University lost as many as 37 of his Alumni in recent blast at Quetta which he said was one the worst happenings in the country. He said universities can play a vital role in defeating terrorism with education.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised the VC about the university goals and future vision. He said that IIUI is keen to collaborate with all the Pakistani universities and students hailing from Baluchistan will be welcomed warmly to join IIUI programs.
