Under the banner of Khyber Students Union, a grand protest rally of students of Government College, Kohi Sher Haider Bara against lack of facilities in their educational institution was held here at Khyber Square on the last day.
Large numbers of learners carrying banners and placards inscribed with sayings in favor of their demands. They chanted slogans against the officials of the education department, member parliaments and district administrative officials.
Central President of the union, Rafiullah College chief Muqayabullah and Samiullah Afridi who led the protest while speaking on the occasion said that
Since long the college has been enclosed by the miseries however the concerned authorities have turned blinds eyes towards it.
The Principal post has been vacant since March,2021 besides few teachers are available to teach to more than eleven hundred students that is equivalent to deprive them of their basic rights, they added and said the institution lacks proper transportation,laborterty and sports ground. They asked the Deputy Commissioner, Khyber to resume their annual scholarship so that they can bear their educational expenses.
On the assurance of the Member Provincial Assembly Shafiq Afridi, the students temporary ended their agitation.
