In line with the vision and guidance of the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mr. Babar Saleem Swati, the Assembly continues to organize educational study tours aimed at acquainting youth with the parliamentary system, legislative process, and democratic values.
During the current month, three youth delegations visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. These included representatives from the Charsadda and District Khyber chapters of the Young Leaders Parliament, as well as members of the Pakistan Youth Parliament.
On the special instructions of the Speaker, the Assembly Secretariat made comprehensive arrangements for the visits. Special Secretary Administration, Mr. Syed Waqar Shah, warmly welcomed the delegations and briefed them about various departments and functions of the Assembly.
Assistant Secretary Mr. Saifullah Khan delivered a detailed presentation on parliamentary affairs and guided the participants through important areas of the Assembly, including the session hall, chambers, and visitors’ galleries. The students also witnessed a live assembly session, which greatly piqued their interest.
At the end of the tour, a Q&A session was held, where the youth engaged actively and had their questions addressed by the Special Secretary Administration.
Commenting on the importance of such visits, Speaker KP Assembly Babar Saleem Swati stated:
“Educating, training, and guiding our youth is a national responsibility. We must instill awareness, confidence, and a sound understanding of democratic processes in them so they can grow into informed and responsible citizens.
The doors of the KP Assembly are always open to the younger generation, and we are committed to ensuring they have opportunities to witness and learn firsthand how a parliament functions.”
Special Secretary Administration, Mr. Syed Waqar Shah, added:
“It is encouraging to see the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa showing interest in parliamentary institutions and democratic practices. These study tours play a vital role in their intellectual development and raise awareness on national issues. We will continue to provide such educational opportunities in the future as well.”
