Supply of subsidized flour at sale point ordered

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food and Irrigation Department Fazal-e-Elahi has said that strict instructions have been issued to quarter concerned for the provision of wheat flour to poor people of the province, adding that efforts underway to ensure supply of flour at discounted rate at specific sale points for marginalised sections of the society.
Fair distribution of flour in the province was the key priority of the provincial government and no stone will be left unturned to ensure flour availability and supply to masses,he added.
He made these remarks while presiding over a meeting held in his office in Peshawar regarding the fair distribution of flour at government concessional rates.
Secretary Food Department Mushtaq Ahmed, Commissioner Peshawar and other relevant authorities participated in the meeting.
The forum held a detailed discussion on the demand and supply of flour at subsidised rate at the province.
In order to maintain transparency in the distribution of government subsidized flour, check all registered flour dealers regardless of political affiliation.
Minister for Food and Irrigation Department Fazal Elahi said that any dealer found guilty of cheating in the distribution of government quota would be canceled and legal action will be taken against him.
A monitoring committee should also be formed which will check the distribution of government flour after every two weeks, he added.
The caretaker minister said that the monitoring committee at the tehsil level will include the officers of the food department and other relevant officials.
The fruits of all the welfare projects should reach the people, the caretaker food minister said that the officers should use all their abilities to provide relief and convenience to the people and the government will provide resources and support in this regard.
