Police claimed to conducted a successful operation leading to the arrest of three suspects involved in a high-profile robbery.
The suspects, part of an organized gang from Pashtakhara and Sheikh Mohammadi, had posed as government officials and snatched a vehicle and cash from a property dealer, Masmi Mujahid, in Khyber Bara district last month.
The suspects were tracked down and apprehended after a thorough investigation that involved modern techniques and extensive questioning of various individuals.
The operation was conducted under the direct instructions of CCPO Peshawar, Qasim Ali Khan, and the supervision of SP Cantt Division, Aitzaz Arif, Acting DSP Pashtakhara Circle, Umar Afridi, and SHO Police Station Sarband, Ruman Ali,
The stolen goods, including Rs8.5 million in cash, the vehicle used in the crime (a Vigo), a motorcycle, and weapons, were recovered from the suspects.
During initial questioning, the accused revealed the identities of other gang members, prompting the formation of a special team to track and arrest them.
The robbery occurred when the gang, pretending to be government officials, snatched the property dealer’s car and cash on the Sarband Mall Cattle Market Road.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ismail son of Khan Dast, Pashtakhara Bala, and Najib son of Jalil Khan of Sheikh Mohammadi.
Police said that further investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
