Tank police along with security forces on Friday foiled unknown criminals’ nefarious design of mass destruction and defused huge quantity of explosive planted outside a house in Dr. Rabnawaz, Street. Unidentified assailants had planted explosives outside the house located along western circle of the city.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, DSP Headquarters Inamullah Gandapur, SHO City Gul Wali Khan, staff of Police Bomb Disposal Squad and Police had completely sealed all the internal and external routes of the Dr. Rabinawaz street, to deal with any emergency. Police and security forces conducted a rescue operation and evacuated the surrounding houses before defusing the explosive.
Later, the Police Bomb Disposal Squad defused the improvised explosive device (IED) with utmost skill. The police chief told the media that explosive was planted outside the house of a man named Akbar who was hailing from South Waziristan in Dr. Rabnawaz Street.
DPO said that the bomb weighed more than four kilograms and if it exploded, there was a danger of huge destruction.
He paid homage to the Bomb Disposal Squad, DSP Headquarters Inamullah Gandapur, SHO City Gul Wali Khan, security forces and police personnel and Rescue 1122 personnel for their timely action and awarded certificates of appreciation.
The announcement was made while the locals and the public paid tribute to the security forces, including DPO, police and all concerned agencies for taking timely action to save the area from destruction.
