KHYBER
The All Teachers Association (ATA) Khyber, has expressed serious concern over the continued delay in the payment of teachers’ salaries and urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately shift to MPG System.
A delegation led by ATA Khyber Vice President Sadiq Ahmad met the District Accounts Officer in Jamrud to inquire about the reasons behind the repeated delays in salary payments.
According to the delegation, the Accounts Officer explained that the salaries of Education Department employees in District Khyber had not yet been shifted to the MPG system, resulting in monthly delays while employees of other provincial government departments receive their salaries on time through the same system.
The teachers stated that while salaries of other government employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were released between June 22 and 24, teachers in District Khyber were still awaiting their salaries, which was a discriminatory attitude towards them.
The association called on the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Secretary Finance, the Director General of the Accountant General’s Office, the District Accounts Officer, and other relevant authorities to immediately transfer the salaries of District Khyber’s Education Department employees to the MPG system to ensure timely payments in the future.
ATA Khyber warned that if its demands were not met it would stage a protest demonstration and sit-in outside the District Accounts Office.
