Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Syed Ashfaq Anwar has said that pragmatic steps have been put in place to ensure law and order situation at the provincial metropolis.
He made these remarks here on Monday while visiting the Warsak Road where a blast targeted a security forces` vehicle.
According to police, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the abovementioned road near the Prime Hospital has left six FC personnel and three civilians injured. At least one FC was also embraced martyrdom in the target attack.
Syed Ashfaq Anwar said the explosion did not appear to be a suicide bombing at the initial stage. He said there is a possibility of explosives being planted along the roadside.
The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) teams were gathering forensic evidence from the attack site, the CCPO said.
He said that strict checking has been started at all entrances and exits of the city.
The country will not allow the elements of the enemy to succeed in their nefarious designs,CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar said and added that all security agencies are working together to establish peace and order.
