A group of Buddhists from Thailand pay a visit to Shapola Stupa in subdivision Landi Kotal, district Khyber on Tuesday.
Members of the delegation looked at various sections of the Shapola Stupa and led by their monk performed religious rites there.
Speaking on the occasion the visitors said that opening of the Stupa for the Budmat followers will not only create religious harmony but will boost religious tourism.
They thanked the locals for their hospitality and paid gratitude to organizers for opening the most Buddhist religious site for international tourism.
The Shapola Stupa is the 2nd century Buddhist monument erected during the era of Kushan Buddhists Empire however as per the archeology department because of natural or manmade calamities 65 percent destroyed.
The preservation process was started in December 2020 the preservation process will take two years and a half to complete.
