THATTA: The Model Court in Thatta has directed the registration of an FIR against seven police officials, including two SHOs of Makli Police Station, on charges of harassment, unlawful detention, and misuse of authority. The order was issued by First Additional Sessions Judge Islamul Haq Arain, who accepted a petition filed under Section 22-A CrPC by Noori Qureshi, a resident of Makli. According to the court’s directive, an FIR will be registered against SHO Anwar Shar, former SHO Ashfaq Mangi, Sub-Inspector Shabbir Dawoach, ASI Sher Afzal Jokhio, Constable Bilawal Dawoach, and Woman ASI Sakina Shaikh, among others. The SHO of Makli Police Station has been instructed to formally record the complainant’s statement under Section 154 of the CrPC and initiate an inquiry. In her petition, filed through senior advocate Mansoor Turk, Qureshi alleged that a police officer harassed her and unlawfully detained her son at Makli Police Station. Although her son was recovered during a judicial raid, the officers allegedly colluded to register a false narcotics case against him in retaliation. News Desk
