Three among two women died, three injured as rice mill’s wall collapses

Three laborers among two women were crushed to death and three more were feared of pressed under the wall wreckages on Tuesday at Khorwah town around forty kilometers away from Badin.
According to details, the incident took place at the mid of the day when large number of women, children along with male family members who were busy in arranging and collecting the husks of the grains of rice, in Jeelani rice mill at Khorwah town-Bain.
The over loaded wall with husks of grains of rice of Jeelani rice mill in Khorwah suddenly caved down the over the rice husks or peels pickers in the result of the incident, two women including Khadija Shaikh, 36 yrs and Pathani Shaikh, 60 yrs were died on the spot when other one, Misri Shaikh, 43 yrs, was rushed to local hospital Hyderabad, where he breath his last in the way to hospital.
When rescue sources feared that some others children and women were pressed under the debris of the caved in wall of rice mill. As per preliminary investigation, the laborers were arranging and collecting the sacks of rice and husks along with wall of the rice mill when sudden its caved down crashing on laborers.
Rescue sources told that some among the injured were in critical condition and it was feared that the death toll could rise further.
On getting information, a police team under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Khorwah, Mr. Mehar Sathio rushed to the spot and evacuated the trapped laborers and facilitated to rush them to the local hospitals, sources added.
The overload of rice husks and unsafe structure of rice mill and negligence on the part of owner has come to light and feeble foundation of the rice walls failed to bear the load and collapsed, source added.
