PESHAWAR: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three persons for spreading fake video of snatching on social media platforms. The arrest was made by the police of the Paharipora Police Station, under the Faqirabad division, said police officials. The arrested persons have been identified as Muhammad Faisal, Muhammad Musa, and Wajahatullah for allegedly producing and spreading A special investigation team was formed under the leadership of SP Faqirabad Division, Muhammad Arshad Khan, along with DSP Faqirabad Circle, Omar Afridi, and SHO Paharipora Police Station, Ahmed Allah Khan. The arrested individuals were accused of orchestrating these fabricated videos with the malicious intent of instilling fear, creating panic among the public, and tarnishing the reputation of the police. The accused had staged several simulated banditry scenes at various locations, which were later uploaded online, giving the false impression that these were real incidents. A formal case has been registered against the accused at Paharipora Police Station, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend any other individuals involved in facilitating these deceptive activities.

The police emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of such content before drawing conclusions and spreading rumors.
