At least three people were killed and a number suffered injuries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday as heavy rains caused roof collapses.
According to a report issued by the Provincial Management Authority (PDMA), during the last 24 hours three people have been killed in roof collapse incidents. It said that four houses in the province were partially damaged.
PDMA officials said that all districts of the province are in close coordination with the authority and the process of clearness of blocked roads in northern areas is underway. Weather pundits forecast more showers during the next 24 hours in the province. Rains lashed a large part of KP bringing life to a standstill.
The rains have also disrupted life in the provincial capital. Some hilly areas received moderate snowfall, which brought the mercury level down to the freezing point.
Regional Meteorological Center Peshawar said that widespread rain with snow over the hilly area is expected in all districts of KP.
The Center statistics show that the highest 27 millimeters of rain was recorded in Kalam, Timergara, and Drosh, 13mm each in Kakul, D.I Khan, Saidu Sharif, 12mm in Malam Jabba, 10mm in Pattan and Dir.
