Three more people were kidnapped from the limits of Tangwani police station after armed assailants intercepted the various vehicles at Indus highway here on Sunday late night. Local people said that a group of armed persons opened indiscriminate firing on two trucks resulting a driver of truck got serious injuries on the spot, after shooting they took away to three people namely Abdul Ghafoor, Mansoor Ali and Lal Mohammad all of by cast Buriro residents of Thull area to Katcha area on gun point.
The local police said that the incident took place within the precinct of Tangwani police station near Manjhi pull , tangwani larro. However they were tried to locate the kidnappers, who were succeeded in escaping to Katcha area. After the incident a large number of people including heirs of captives, truck drivers and locals protested against the deteriorating law and order especially rising of kidnapping cases.
The demonstrators blocked the Indus Highway, which disturbed the flow of intra- city traffic. Due to blockade, A large number of vehicles were seen standing in long queues along both sides of the road due to which worst traffic jam have been witnessed. The protestors blazed tyres and wooden desks and shouted slogans of police failure on occasion. Finally they demanded from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, DIGP larkana and other law enforcement agencies for early and safe recovery of the abductees.
It is pertinent to add here that the kidnaping for ransom not a new thing or a new trend in district Kashmore but from last few months, an unexpected rise has been witnessed in the highway robberies, firing at vehicles and the kidnappings of various vehicle’s drivers and labourers on gun point. However twelve abductees are still in the cultches of the kidnappers including a woman Nazia khoso and her minor daughter Qausar while district police has miserably to find any clue of their whereabouts and trace the kidnappers. Recently, in the period of SSP Irfan Samo, two police cops namely Roshan din jhakhrani and Gul Mohammad bakhrani were embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while another Umeed Ali bakhrani sustained serious injuries.
Although despite various reportings and highlighting crime issues, the Kashmore police seem least bothered to initiate some stern against criminal activities such as kidnaping, robberies, theft and street crime throughout district since there is no any proper patrolling and snap checking in the city. People of Kashmore particularly civil society and social activists are unsatisfied police policies while they demanded from Chief Minister and IG Sindh to take serious measures especially maintaining law and order throughout district.
