Tourists and nature lovers from across the country have thronged the scenic Malam Jabba after the first snowfall of winter this year.
After a heavy snowfall in the mountainous region of Swat, tourists have been flocking to Malam Jabba, Marghazar, Miandam and other hill stations. Those who are fond of snow and snow-related sports have come in multitude to the over 8,000 feet high scenic resort of Malam Jabba where some were playing with snowballs while others enjoyed sliding down on small ascents using tubes.
“It is unbelievable to visit and see unending beautiful scenes wearing a white sheet of snow. The snow is everywhere,” one tourist with other family members from Lahore said. “We were lucky enough to have snow last night and in the morning as well,” he added. “We are here for the snowfall and when we got up early in the morning saw snowfall in Malam Jabba,” he said. He also praised the local people and said that they were hospitable and cooperative.
“I always loved to see people snow tubing in videos, but doing it practically is a real fun. We are having a great time to come here and give a message to everyone in the country to come and enjoy it,” Salman Ahmad, another tourist from Islamabad, said.
When asked to have any message from those who want to visit during the winter season, Salman said that Swat was very peaceful and people who love to play in snow should visit Malam Jabba ski resort and they could play other snow-related games as well. Besides Malam Jabba, snowfall also started in Kalam as well where hundreds of tourists already turned up, a local vendor at Tea stall said.
