PESHAWAR (INP): The Deputy Commissioner, Riaz Khan Mehsud here Wednesday decided to include representatives of traders community in price review committees and prices of daily commodities would be fixed with consultations of traders in future.
This decision was taken during a high level meeting attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Shah Mehmood, Abdul Nabi and Basheer Ahmed besides additional assistant commissioners, ration controller Aftab Umar, Assistant Director protection of consumers unity, Said Badshah, eminent traders, Haji Muhammad Afzal, Malik Mehar Elahi, Shaukat Khan, Shakir Ahmed Saraf, Salim Khan and others in large number.
The traders said the non-completion of repair and re-construction work following demolition of their shops in wake of cleanup operation against encroachment in city, was making negative effects on their business besides they are being heavily charged by the officials of administration in case of non-violation.
The traders demanded early completion of rehabilitation works and imposition of fine as per their financial position besides taking them into confidence before fixation of prices of daily use commodities. The Deputy Commissioner assured fixation of prices of daily use items after consultation with traders and inclusion of their members in price review committees.
