Traditional Games begins in Battagram District amidst great enthusiasm


Traditional Games in Batagram District got underway under the aegis of Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with players from Batagram and Torghar Districts taking part in different games.
These competitions are being held at Alai with Athletes are here showcasing their best talent in events like Chandro, Moni Moni, Goli, Gali Danda, Mukha and Volleyball. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administrative Officer Irshad Khan and other personalities were present.
It is for the first time in these competitions, the Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is organizing Traditional Games in two remote areas. Deputy Commissioner Batagram Muhammad Ashfaq graced the occasion as chief guest and formally inaugurated the Games.
In this regard, Deputy Director Operations Sports Jamshed Baloch while talking to media said that to revive traditional sports in all districts in light of the directives of the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, DG Sports Khalid Mahmood and Director Operation Aziz Ullah Jan instructed them to hold various Traditional Games in befitting manners with open invitations to all youth of the nearby villages.
A good number of girls are also part of the Games, he added. He said his team is working hard and competitions of traditional games are being organized in every district in stages which will give the best results. Winners of all the districts will be given a chance to participate in the final round to be held in Peshawar, Jamshed Baloch said.
He said now the youth of both Batagram and Torghar will have ample opportunity to come forward and hopefully they will give their best performances in the Games. He said that the players are being given full encouragement and also scholarships are being given to the best performing players.
He said every possible step is being taken for the best of the players, the best facilities are being provided to them and it is hoped that these same players will shine the name of the country and the nation all over the world by performing best not only in national but also in international competitions.
