Traffic police arrest 61, three trucks of goods seized

City Traffic Police during operations against encroachment mafia in the provincial capital arrested 61 persons and confiscated three trucks of goods. According to the orders of the provincial government and the vision of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat, an operation was carried out against encroachment mafia in LRH Hospital Road, Qissa Khawani and Khyber Bazaar.
DSP Zakaullah and other traffic officials also accompanied him.
City Traffic Police Peshawar personnel seized three trucks of goods parked on the road and sidewalks outside the shops and arrested 61 persons against whom strict action will be taken as per law.
It is to be noted that City Traffic Police Peshawar conducts operations against encroachment mafia in different working hours in different areas of the city while awareness campaigns are also being carried out in this regard to eradicate regular encroachments.
Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat said that City Traffic Police Peshawar would continue its operations against the encroaching mafia and no leniency would be shown to anyone in this regard.
He said that those who disrupted the traffic system did not deserve any concession which would be dealt with iron fists. He directed the traffic authorities to take action against the encroaching mafia on a daily basis and to keep a check and balance after the encroachments were stopped so that the citizens would not face any difficulty.
Traffic Chief said that the citizens should refrain from parking their vehicles and motorbikes on the side of the road while their vehicles would be shifted to the terminal including taking legal action against the violators of the new parking zone.
Mr Abbas appealed to the traders to voluntarily end encroachments to ensure the beauty of the city and uninterrupted flow of traffic.
