Traffic police chief briefs officers on amendments in Police Act

Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat said on Saturday that after the amendments in the Police Act, the police have been fully empowered with all administrative powers.
He said that Inspector General of Police has been made powerful in the matters related to policing and chances of political influences have been reduced to great extent.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the course at Pakistan Provincial Service Academy in Peshawar.
Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat briefed the participants in detail regarding the Police Act of 1861, 2002 and 2017 and also informed about the amendments made in it.
He said that under the amendments, Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) was set up through which the problems of the people are resolved before the registration of FIR.
He said that the job of the police force is only to serve the people and to provide facilities to the people which should be put into practice in all case.
Traffic police chief further said that the law is equal for all while the accused should be hated for his crime instead of hating him.
There is a very important role of a constable in the department who is on duty on roads and in different areas in cold, heat and rain, he added.
Mr Abbas on the occasion apprised the participants of the course about teamwork and said that if they work under teamwork then all issues can be dealt with easily.
