Bannu: The Planning & Development Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with The Sub-National Governance (SNG) Programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the UK, organised a technical orientation session on planning and budgeting for the elected representatives from Bannu and the Newly Merged District (NMD) of North Waziristan.
The session, held at the DC office Bannu, aimed to provide training to 43 officials, including women and minorities, on their role under the new local government system, particularly in the areas of planning budgeting and budget implementation. Mayor, Bannu City, and Chairmen, Tehsil Council Domail, Mirali, Miranshah, and Datta Khel attended the orientation session.
The Chief Guest, Commissioner Bannu Division, Mr. Pervez Sabatkhail, applauded the efforts of Oxford Policy Management (OPM) that is implementing the SNG programme for organising the valuable session and selecting Bannu District for this activity. He expressed his desire for similar orientation sessions for other government officers.
The Planning & Development Department and SNG Programme aim to enhance the capacity of the government officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to effectively plan, budget and execute development projects. This technical orientation session is a step towards achieving this objective and ensuring the sustainable development of the province.
