Tribal dist Khyber admin launches official website for citizen access

In a rare development, the tribal district Khyber administration on Wednesday launched an official website with the primary objective to provide citizens an opportunity to easily communicate with district government entities and have their issues resolved.
The website launching ceremony was held at Qayyum Sports Complex.
The website Www.dckhyber.gov.pk included a window for people to register their complaints, and informed district administration about their suggestions for further improving the service delivery system.
It is to note here that district Khyber was the first in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to have its official website for service delivery.
The initiative was financially supported by Community Resilience Activity-North (CRA-N).
CRA-N is a program working in Newly Merged Areas (NMAs) to develop the resilience of populations and work with local government, leaders, community members to increase civic engagement, strengthen community cohesion, and improve governance through efficient service delivery system.
Irfan khattak regional team leader CRA-N shared that the website also contains information about the historical importance of district Khyber, its worth-seen places and could be used as a guide for national and international tourists.
“The website contains different modules including information about district administration, videos, up-to-date information about different tourist’s spots as well as an E Library,” he added.
The overall aim of the initiative is to minimize gaps between government line departments and its citizens. Nisar Afridi, Deputy Director IT informed about the unique section of the website where a citizen can easily register its complaint about any sector including health, education, forests, social welfare or any other government department of the district.
After receiving the complaint, the DC office will send the complaint to the concerned department for redressal. Later on, the officials of the district administration and CRA-N distributed certificates of appreciation among the members and played a key role in developing the first ever website for a tribal district.
Media, civil society representatives, bloggers attended the event.
Dr Amir AC revenue, PRO DC Khyber Anas Khan, Haseeb and ADC finance Khyber also participated in the ceremony.
