The tribesmen warned that they will boycott the upcoming polio campaign if the crushing plants are not resumed.
A protest sit-in against closing of crush plants was held here at Pak-Afghan highway, Frontier road at Qamberabad point of sub-division Bara last day that was attended by people from different walks of life.
The protestors holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favor of resuming crush plants located in the outskirts of Hayatabad posh area, suspended in 2009.
Those who led the protest including Saeedullah Afridi,Abdurrazaq Afridi,Attaullah Afridi,Dr Sher Shah and others categorically disapproved the authorities concerned for keeping close the crushing plants since 2009 and said it equllient to deprive them of earning of three meals.
They urged the government to halt financial execution of them and let to restart the crushing factories which are a lonely source of income for thousands of locals.
The protestors were on the view that they have conveyed their grievance to concerned highup but to in avail.
“We will completely boycott the polio drive to be commenced next week if our demand is not accepted,” the participants threatened.
It is to be stated here that the security forces suspended the crushing plants due to security reasons in 2009.
