PESHAWAR
Two brothers were shot dead in a family dispute within the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh Police Station in Peshawar, police said on Friday.
According to police, 28-year-old Noorullah and 30-year-old Bawar Khan were allegedly shot dead by their brother on the instructions of their father following a verbal altercation that escalated into violence.
A murder case has been registered against the victims’ father and brother.
Police said both the deceased and the accused are Afghan nationals residing in Reggi Lalma, Amin Kallay area of Peshawar.
Upon receiving information, police reached the scene, collected evidence and shifted the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem examination. After completion of legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to their heirs.
Police have launched raids to arrest the accused and said the investigation is continuing from multiple angles to ascertain all facts surrounding the double murder.
The incident has once again highlighted the tragic consequences of unresolved family disputes.
