Two members of criminal gangs held: cash and valuables recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police Noon and Margalla police station team have arrested two wanted members of criminal gangs involved in numerous theft and pickpocket activities and recovered cash and valuables from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir khan, the Islamabad Capital Police had categorically started a crackdown against criminal elements in order to save the precious lives and property of citizens. Following these directions, the Noon police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending a wanted member of a pickpocket gang. The accused was identified as Rehmat Ullah. The Police team also recovered cash from his possession. During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to being involved in numerous pick pocketing incidents in public places. Cases were already registered against the nabbed accused at Noon police station. Further investigation is underway. Furthermore, the Margalla police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending a wanted member of a thief gang involved in numerous theft activities. The accused was identified as Sami Masih. Police team also recovered stolen valuables from his possession. Case has been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During the preliminary investigation the accused confessed to being involved in numerous criminal activities in various areas of the city. ICCPO Dr Akbar Nasir Khan directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in criminal activities and said that safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
