The UAE has condemned the recent drone attacks launched from Iraqi territory targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.
In a statement published on its X account on Thursday, quoted by state news agency WAM, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these attacks are a “flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and a threat to its security and stability.”
The ministry reiterated the UAE’s “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability.
Meanwhile, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi also slammed what he described as “terrorist” attacks on Saudi Arabian oil interests by Iran-aligned militias in Iraq.
Albudaiwi deemed the acts “a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, and a direct threat to its security and stability, as well as to regional peace and security.” “The continuation of these terrorist assaults constitutes a direct threat to regional peace and security, undermining international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and consolidating security and stability,” read the statement.
