PESHAWAR
University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Green Wend Energy Peshawar, to develop joint projects for developing cost effective and viable renewable energy power products.
The documents were duly endorsed by Prof. Dr. Amjad Ullah, Dean Electrical and Computer Engineering UET and Zeeshan Syed Shah CEO Green Wend Energy in a MoU signing ceremony held here.
The MoU aims on research and technology development, academic collaboration in areas of mutual interests, fostering industry linkages and organizing capacity building events.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Ullah appreciated the joint initiative taken by Green Wend and Department of Electrical Engineering UET for the benefit of final year students of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Departments.
He said, as a matter of fact, the founders of this company are also the alumni of UET which aroused the university management’s interest to prepare the graduating students to develop small products in their Final Year Projects with the help of energy experts.
Zeeshan Syed Shah said the company since its establishment has installed more than 50MW projects in KP and employed 20 graduates of UET which are working in field.
Prof Dr. Hamid Ullah Secretary BOASAR expressed hope that this MoU will help in benefiting the engineering students to come up with sustainable solutions for renewable energy sector.
Earlier, Dr. Nasru Minallah, Director ORIC, UET highlighted the importance of the MoU. Dr. Khizar Azam Khan, Registrar UET in his closing remarks urged the need that both institutions should work together and solve practical issues of Jalozai Campus. He appreciated the efforts of ORIC and Prof Dr Gulzar Ahmad, Chairman Electrical Engineering Departments for putting up sincere efforts.
