PESHAWAR
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Monday visited the headquarters of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The delegation was led by Ms. Robina Shaheen, said a handout issued by the spokesperson of the authority.
Director General (DG) PDMA Janat Gul Afridi briefed the delegation about the devastation caused by last year’s flood in the province.
The aim of the UNHCR delegation visit is to explore future plans and review previous interventions in response to the devastating flood of 2022.
During the meeting, the UNHCR delegation engaged in productive discussions with DG PDMA, exchanging valuable insights and experiences regarding the challenges posed by the flood and the subsequent relief and recovery efforts.
The discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration to address the immediate and long-term needs of affected communities
