Uni of Agriculture organizes anti-drug awareness seminar

The University of Agriculture Peshawar organized a one-day awareness seminar titled “ Anti Drugs Awareness Campaign “ in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force (INF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The seminar was organized by the Agriculture Anti-Narcotics Society of the university with Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Jehan Bakht as a chief guest.
On this occasion, Deputy Director of Anti-Narcotics Force KP Malik Wajid Yusaf, Director of Students Counselling, Placement and Human Resource Development Dr. Anwar Ali Shad, Society Convener and Director of Administration Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Deputy Director Dr. Humira Wasila, President of Agriculture University Teachers Association Dr. Bashir Ahmed, faculty members , administrative officers of the University and INF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and students participated in large numbers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jehan Bakht said that drugs are a curse, awareness seminars and walks are organized periodically in this regard in the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, which have positive effects. It is very important to prevent the spread of drugs among the people, especially in young boys and girls.
A drugs-free Pakistan is the guarantor of the future of our young generation. Let’s pledge today that everyone present here will spread awareness in this regard so that the dream of a drug-free country can be fulfilled.
He further said that along with education and research, teachers should pay special attention to the training of students, make them morally good people so that tomorrow they will go into the society and become the best parents, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters and neighbors to serve the society and country.
He said that the role of parents and teachers is very important in the elimination of drugs, not only anti-narcotics, but as human beings and responsible Pakistanis, it is our duty to eradicate drugs and cleanse the society from this scourge.
Deputy Director of Anti-Narcotics Force Malik Wajid Yusaf gave a detailed briefing regarding the awareness campaign and informed the students about the dangers of drug use.
He outlined the National Anti-Narcotics Policy 2019 and said that most of the youth in every part of the world are victims of drugs, due to which 457 people die on average every day in the world.
