Universities, colleges celebrate 76th Independence Day

34 versities, 375 colleges commemorate Pakistan Day on special directive of Secretary Higher Education Anila Mahfooz Durani

In accordance with the directives of the Higher Education Secretary, Anila Mahfooz Durani, celebrations of Independence Day were organized in all districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including merged areas.
A total of 34 universities and 375 colleges participated in these events. The festivities encompassed a range of activities, including flag hoisting, live performances featuring patriotic songs and speeches, Pakistan-themed dramas and tableaus, and more.
Under the supervision of the Directorate of Higher Education and the Directorate of Commerce Education, the buildings of colleges were adorned with national flags and decorative lights. Various events included the cutting of an Independence Day cake during different ceremonies.
Speaking on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Higher Education Secretary Anila Mahfooz Durani convey her message, highlighting that Pakistan emerged as a symbol of joy and freedom for the Muslim communities of the Indian subcontinent. She acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces of Pakistan and other institutions in upholding and safeguarding this freedom.
Addressing the students of the province, she urged them to play their part in transforming this freedom into prosperity and progress and to contribute to enhancing Pakistan’s reputation on the global stage.
She emphasized the significance of not wasting a single moment in illuminating Pakistan’s name on the world map.
Praising the efforts of universities and colleges, she commended their administrative staff for efficiently organizing events throughout the province in connection with Pakistan’s Independence Day.
