WASHINGTON
United States (US) House of Representatives formally approved the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden, calling the House’s action baseless and political maneuvering. According to a foreign news agency, the Republican-dominated House voted with 221 votes in favor of the resolution and 212 votes against.
This is being done to investigate whether President Biden benefited from his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business. Hunter Biden has refused to appear before a House committee in camera, saying he wants to appear in public and that Joe Biden is innocent. Republicans allege that Hunter Biden did business in Ukraine and China and assured foreign businessmen of access to then-Vice President Joe Biden, but evidence was not presented as to whether Biden benefited anyone or himself.
In his response, President Biden said that Republicans are wasting time on nonsense that Republican members of Congress themselves admit they have no evidence for, instead of taking necessary action.
