Vote can change the fate of a nation so everyone should know about the power of his vote. This was stated by the District Election Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed while addressing regarding voters day ceremony here on Sunday.
Registration of the vote is the political and democratic right of above 18 years old citizens, they must register for vote with the registration of CNIC Zulfiqar Ahmed said. He said that the vote is a fundamental right of any citizen that enables them to choose the leaders of tomorrow, voting not only enables the citizens to vote for political parties, but it also helps them to realize the importance of citizenship.
Zulfiqar Ahmed said that many people do not vote thinking one vote will not make a change but as a matter of fact, it does a nation’s political foundations are built using elections.
He further said that vote is the tool to bring change in the society by using it positively, the democratic system also strengthens the country.
ECP is organizing seminars on the importance of vote with the cooperation of different local organizations, voters can select their leaders through a democratic process and this they become authoritarian after every five years, District Election Commissioner said.
He said that we select our parliamentarians those work for legislation and resolving other issues of the country in the parliament and also make sure the development of the country.
