PESHAWAR: A wanted suspect was shot and injured and arrested following a police encounter in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area, while his accomplice managed to escape, police said on Tuesday. Police were on routine patrol near Shah Kas when two armed suspects opened fire upon seeing the police party. The police retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
After the encounter, police found an injured suspect near the Phase-I graveyard in Hayatabad and took him into custody. He was identified as Zahid, a resident of Rashid Garhi. His accomplice, identified as Sheraz, a resident of Hayatabad Phase-II, escaped from the scene.
