Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah has remarked “we see if the new government social media rules are not in clash with the constitution.

He gave these remarks during the hearing of the petitions filed against the social media rules here Monday.
Sadaf Beg, Nighat Dawood, Fareeha Aziz, Rafeh Baloch , PFUJ and Pakistan Bar Council were appointed assistants in the petitions against the social media rules.

CH IHC remarked “we see if the new government social media rules don’t run contrary to the constitution.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) told the court as per court’s orders the attorney general made consultations with some stake holders. Prime Minister constituted a committee under federal minister Shireen Mazari. Face book, Google Twitter and other international forums were also consulted.

The CJ IHC remarked tik tok was shut for such a period and it is in place in what country that the entire social media be shut in connection with objectionable material.

The CJ IHC remarked “ you can not fight with the technology.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January 06.
