Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said we will want to use the 48th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers for forging unity and harmony among the Muslim states.
“Pakistan thinks this conference has enormous utility, he said this while addressing a press conference here Tuesday.
“Today, still are millions of Afghan citizens suffering from hunger, poverty and diseases. Still the harmful effects of corona virus have not been eliminated., he added.
The unity is indispensable if we want our voice to become an effective voice, he underlined.
Pakistan will want to play the role of bridge in Muslim Ummah so that the divergences are bridged and convergences are developed.
We want justice is provided to people of Kashmir and Palestine, he remarked. We want to play the role for establishment of peace in the world including South Asia. We could come out of negative impact of COVID-19 and could move forward on the path to socio-economic development.
He pointed out theme of the 48th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers being held on 22nd of this month in Islamabad will be ‘Partnership for Unity, Justice and Development.’
It is our endeavor over 100 resolutions could be passed in OIC Foreign Ministers conference.
He indicated OIC Contact group for Kashmir will review afresh all the situation in Kashmir. OIC has worked out two reports on Kashmir. It is our endeavor these reports are presented in OIC conference and approved. We will strive for approval of a consensus resolution on Kashmir in the conference. Efforts will be made to bring resolutions on Hijab and Islamophobia. We will try to evolve a joint strategy with reference to corona virus and economic revival.
We strive to bolster cooperation and seek implementation of other matters.
The missile launching matter from India is serious issue, he held. The intensity of quake of Indian missile launching has not been felt in the world and in Pakistan too.
He said it will be our desire and effort that the reports prepared by the Special Envoy of OIC and Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian affairs are presented in the OIC session in order to apprise the Ummah about the latest situation in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said a Kashmiri delegation will also attend the OIC meeting to inform the Muslim Ummah about the ground realities in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It will also be our effort that the OIC also adopts a resolution on Jammu and Kashmir.
Similarly, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said it will be our effort that the OIC meeting comes up with a consensus response on Islamophobia and Hijab.
He said Pakistan also wants the OIC member countries to strengthen cooperation to deal with the impact of COVID-19.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan wants the OIC meeting to prepare a concrete action plan to achieve our collective aspirations.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we want to give a message of solidarity and cooperation amongst the Muslim countries through the upcoming meeting of OIC.
