Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said water is our life line and we will give befitting response like 2019 to any Indian misadventure.
He was addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul Saturday.
Shehbaz Sharif said any attempt to stop, reduce or divert the flow of water belonging to Pakistan under the Indus Water Treaty will be responded to with full force and might.
He added water is our lifeline and a vital national interest and its availability will be safeguarded at all costs and under all circumstances.
He held our armed forces are a symbol of valour, exemplary discipline and unwavering commitment to the nation. Our armed forces have a name due to their professional capabilities.
He said the entire nation stands by the armed forces of Pakistan to safeguard every inch of the homeland.
He said Pakistan is fully alive to its responsibilities for establishment of global peace. We will continue to discharge our obligations in line with UN charter.
He said Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) visited Afghanistan. We want peaceful and stable relations with Afghanistan.
Afghan government should stop use of its soil by Fitnah Al Khwarij.
Talking about tense situation with India, the PM said Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan. This is disputed area at international level. Right to self-determination will have to be given to Kashmiris.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the systematic persecution of minorities particularly Muslims and Sikhs in India, saying it has been more pervasive over the years.
He said India must accept full responsibility for its complete failure to protect the lives, dignity and security of these oppressed communities
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan has always condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We have endured immense loss of over ninety thousand casualties and economic losses exceeding six hundred billion dollars. He said there cannot be a more powerful manifestation of our commitment that we will not tolerate any kind of terrorism of any hue and colour.
No one has rendered more sacrifices than Pakistan in stamping out scourge of terrorism. Our neighboring country blamed Pakistan without any evidence.
Shehbaz Sharif said the recent tragedy in Pahalgam is yet another example of this perpetual blame game which must come to a grinding halt. Pakistan as a responsible country, is open to participate in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation, he added.
PM called for an impartial international investigation into the Pahalgam incident, which claimed lives of 27 tourists in the India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He stated that Pakistan, as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, aspired to promote peace and security across the globe and would continue its efforts in this regard.
PM strongly condemned Israeli atrocities in Palestine. He demanded of international community to get stop persistent human rights violations in Ghaza.
Our efforts for economic stability are bearing fruits. We are focusing on enhancement in investment and economic development.
