DI KHAN: The wildlife department foiled a bid to smuggle five precious birds to Karachi and arrested an accused here on Sunday. Reacting to a tip-off regarding smuggling of precious birds, Divisional Wildlife Office (DFO) Khan Malook directed the wildlife officials to enhance checking at all the entrances and exits of Dera Ismail Khan. The wildlife team headed by SDFO Khalil Khan Kundi and comprising Deputy Ranger Saifur Rehman, Muhammad Saleem and Watcher Nehmatullah at Ramak check post in Dera Ismail Khan recovered three precious falcons and two houbara bustards. An accused Abdul Waheed, hailing from Kalchi, who wanted to smuggle the precious birds to Karachi was arrested. INP
