First ever after merging of ex-tribal agencies into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) wildlife department has established a check point aimed to protect wildlife in the district.
Wildlife divisional forest officer, Khyber Abdul Haleem Marwat while inaugurating the wildlife checkpoint said that the initiative has been adopted to protect wildlife in the district.
He maintained that an awareness drive has been kicked off and the mobile wildlife check post will visit different areas to apprise the locals of the importance and safeguard of the wildlife.
People will sensitize the importance of wildlife and to be informed them of the disadvantages of illegal hunting of different species of wild animals, they remarked.
He added that keeping wild animals and birds in cages and its hunting is unlawful in addition with wildlife is mandatory for a friendly environment.
It is the responsibility of every single citizen to provide a free and protective atmosphere to wildlife in the district.
